The Workloop Medical Interpreter Training
Objectives: The objective of this training is to equip medical interpreter candidates with the essential skills required for professional medical interpretation. This includes enhancing language and interpreting proficiency, developing strong listening and memory retention abilities, fostering ethical behavior, and cultivating excellent customer service skills. Additionally, the training aims to promote cultural awareness and expand the trainee’s vocabulary, along with improving both written and verbal communication for effective interactions in medical settings.
Training Hours: 120 hours
Dates: December 15 - 30, 2025, December 22 - 6, 2026, December 29 - 13, 2026, January 5 - 20, 2026
Location: Microsoft Teams (an invite will be sent via email to the attendees)
Cost: $900 per student
Textbook: No textbooks are required for this course
Instructor: Claudia Aguirre: Extensive Teaching Experience: Over 28 years of experience in bilingual education, including lesson plan development and classroom supervision, crucial for structuring a comprehensive interpreter training program. She has served as a Medical Interpreter and Training Supervisor at The Workloop, and as an OPI/VRI Interpreter Trainer. Certified CMIT Instructor through the NICHC.
